Last week, I was honored with the opportunity to attend Time to Play’s Holiday Showcase in New York City. The event amplifies toys that are currently on the market (or will be) for the holiday season, and one of the amazing parts of the experience was being able to see their Most Wanted toy list unveiled live for the world to see. Time to Play is the definitive area on the web to see authentic toy and game reviews from experts who love toys and enjoy telling us what toys are the ones we should buy.
This year’s list was announced by Time to Play Editor In Chief Jim Silver and Content Director Christopher Byrne. Each toy on the list was brought out by kid models who were so cute.
These toys have been rated on the following factors: Fun, Repeat Play, and Assembly & Instructions.
So without further adieu, here is Time to Play’s Most Wanted list for the holiday season:
Thomas & Friends Steam n Speed Remote Control Thomas
Leap Pad 2 Explorer
Doc McStuffins Time For Your Checkup Doll from Just Play
Little Tikes iTikes Canvas from IGA
Winx Club Girls from Jakks Pacific
Leapster GS Explorer
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figures
Lalaloopsy Soft Dolls
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Pony Princess Wedding Pony Princess Wedding Castle
Monster High Ghouls Rule Dolls
Mega Bloks Skylanders Construction Sets
Lego Friends
WWE Brawling Buddies
Barbie Photo Fashion Doll
AppFinnity App Drive
Furby
Nerf N Strike Elite Hail Fire
Both Jim and Chris recommend that you hop on these toys right away if you want to secure them for under your Christmas tree for your kiddos. Because of the demand and with the many layaway options of stores like Walmart, Toys R’ Us, and Kmart, they may not be available if you wait too long.
Simply put: if you are in the store, and you see one of these items, buy them then.
Also, Jim clued us in during a one-on-one session with the moms who attended the showcase, that the best time to shop for toys is Friday, after they have restocked the shelves with new inventory, and before the evening rush. Between the hours of 2 and 6 is best.
What do you think of Time to Play’s Most Wanted list? What are your kids itching to get from Santa this year?
