Last night’s Golden Globes were filled with jaw dropping gowns, beautiful hues, long flowing hems, and updo’s. I appreciate this year’s red carpet because the celebs weren’t afraid of color—while black still made a fab impact on the red carpet, green, fuchsia, and blush seemed to take over the arrival area. To take a look at all of the looks on the red carpet, click HERE for a complete look at the night’s fashion.
While there were many stunning looks on the red carpet, I chose these 5 looks because they not only looked absolutely gorgeous, but they took risks what true fashion is all about.
Check out my 5 most fab on the 68th Annual Golden Globes red carpet:
5. January Jones, Mad Men
Even if I had an amazing body like January has, I don’t know if I have the balls to wear such a revealing dress. January underwhelmed last awards season, but is daring to be different this year and me likes! Not a traditional awards type of dress, but after J-Lo revealed a plummeting neckline during the 2000 Grammys, we want dresses that are provocative. BTW, both J-Lo’s 2000 Grammy dress and January’s dress are both from Versace.
4. Eva Longoria, Desperate HousewivesEva Longoria’s black Zac Posen number was a head turner. It mixed old fashioned Hollywood glamour with a heart shaped neckline that showed a little of her fabulosity. Sleek but with a bustled train, Eva’s dress had me at hello. She was simply the epitome of beauty on the red carpet.
3. Jennifer Lawrence, Winter’s Bone
I had never heard of Jennifer Lawrence before the Golden Globes, but her daring Louis Vuitton gown made me take notice. Ruffles, texture, and a little leg do a lot for this gown, and the fact that is is designed by L.V. makes it all the better. She has set the mark high, so I expect to see her looking haute at all of the award shows this season.
2. Natalie Portman, Black Swan
The Golden Globe red carpet was filled with expectant mothers, but no one looked more beautiful than actress Natalie Portman. Her Viktor & Rolf strapless gown with standout rose embellishment is most elegant and complementary to her pregnant figure. Black Swan was one of the best movies of the year by far and Natalie has becoming one of my favorite actresses.
1. Olivia Wilde, House
When you wear Machesa, you cannot go wrong. This shimmery confection of a gown is everything that is right with award show fashion. Strapless, cinch waist with a formed bottom that flows into a gorgeous and glamorous shape. I love the shimmer, the blended color and the lines of the dress. Olivia was the best dressed on the red carpet last night.
