One of my earliest memories was when I was about two or three and I was given a music box for my birthday. It was a wooden box painted in pink and when you opened it, a ballerina popped out. It played “It’s A Small World” as she ballerina turned around and it had several compartments in which to keep jewelry and other small keepsakes. I cannot remember life before I got that music box—it was a gift that was given to me by my grandmother and I kept it until I was about eleven or twelve when it stopped working.
Fast forward to now where I have a six year old who wants a music box of her own. I have been shopping at many outlets here in St. Louis but I haven’t really found one that meets all of my requirements. And in requirements, I mean it must have great music, exquisite quality, good workmanship, and has girlie embellishments that a six year old girl would love. After searching online, I found Amazingmusicbox.com. They have a music box, similar to the ballerina one I had as a child HERE. They even have music boxes for babies. In the tradition of music boxes, these boxes are made with great quality and are very affordable. There are a variety of styles and colors to choose from, and I bet if you browse the website, you will find something that you like.
