With the passing of Elizabeth Edwards, we have lost another person to this devastating disease. Cancer knows no color, sex, religious origin, or socio-economic background. It is an equal opportunity disease that kills millions each year. I personally have not had anyone in my family with cancer (my grandmother who died when I was 9 months old did have breast cancer and had her breasts removed and died of a stroke), but I have had many friends and colleagues who have been affected by the disease in their families.
We’ve made so many strides in medicine and technology, but cannot seem to find a cure for cancer. I received information about City of Hope, one of the country’s leading research and treatment centers for cancer, and was asked to pass it along to my readers.
City of Hope has partnered with Olivia Newton-John, a cancer survivor herself, to raise money for their effort. Olivia recorded a song entitled “Help Me to Heal”, and has dedicated it to those that have been affected by cancer. The song is available for download, and each time it is purchased online, $.50 will go to City of Hope’s Women’s Cancer Program as well as the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Center located in Melborne, Australia.
I urge you to go purchase the song for yourself or for someone you love. The song is a great anthem for those struggling with cancer and some of the proceeds of the song go to a worthy cause.

I have downloaded the track, and I hope you do as well. Let’s all work together to beat cancer.
