So, without further ado, here we go….
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mattemoiselle Plush Lipstick in Shawty
2017 was Rihanna’s year with the release of her highly popular and successful Fenty Beauty makeup line, and I drank all of the Kool Aid. Her latest addition to her offering is a set of matte lipsticks called Mattemoiselle, and I got my hands on Shawty, a brown shade that can go from the boardroom to the bedroom. It looks great on all skin tones. Sephora, $18.00.
Shea Moisture African Black Soap Moisturizer for Problem Skin
If you have combination skin that is somewhat sensitive and breaks out easily, this moisturizer is for you. It’s creamy, yet light, and smells divine! Use in the morning and at night before you go to bed for best results, and watch your skin start to shine—in a good way. Target, $10.00.
L’occitaine Lavender Hand Cream
Decadence in a tube, L’occitane Lavender Hand Cream is fabulous honey. It’s calm, lavender scent, creamy moisturizing action, and softening essence is what dreams are made of. And during the cold, winter, months, it is a must! I don’t go anywhere without this in my bag. Sephora, $24.00
My Fitness Pal
Back in November, I vowed to take better care of myself and my body. I’ve been working out regularly and watching what I eat, and I’ve lost about 30 lbs to date. A lot of my success has been because I’m using My Fitness Pal to track my meals, exercise, nutrition, and more. It allows me to also help cheer on other friends who are focusing on living a healthier lifestyle.
There’s a free and paid version.
Mac Cosmetics Ruby Woo
A little red lip never hurt nobody. And it is perfectly acceptable to wear at both work and play. For my go-to red. Ruby Woo does the trick. It’s totally matte, long lasting, and will stop traffic. Mac Cosmetics, $17.50.
The Mother of Black Hollywood
If you are looking for a read that is both inspiring, entertaining, honest, real, and oh so poignant, then honey, you need to get this book. Jenifer Lewis’ The Mother of Black Hollywood is an epic real life tale that can only be told in her shocking and provocative manner. I purchased the audiobook on Audible and could not get enough. This is a must-read for any woman who wants to be empowered and reinvigorated. Amazon.com.
My selections will help you start the year off on a beautiful and supportive note.
