As many of you know, I am no stranger to business travel. You can find me at Lambert International Airport here in St. Louis about twice a month. Whether it’s covering a press event, attending a conference, or perhaps getting in some leisure, I am always up in the air.
It’s a life that I love living, but it isn’t without its setbacks. Flight delays can sometimes ruin a travel experience, and the lack of spaces to actually work and answer emails between flights can be a hinderance. Which is why I am super excited to tell you about National Car Rental’s Emerald Club Lounge, located in the East Terminal here at Lambert.
East Terminal is the area where Southwest resides here in St. Louis. Since they do not have a Southwest lounge, it can be hard for business travelers to conduct business at the gate area. National Car Rental has solved this problem, at least temporarily, by creating an Emerald Club Lounge. It’s a place where travelers can relax, charge, chill, and work.
The lounge is named after National’s Emerald Club which expedites the rental process by offering counter bypass as well as access to National’s “Emerald Aisle,” an exclusive section of the lot where members can select any vehicle as long as they reserve a mid-sized car.
With bucket seats, iPad devices, and free wifi, National Car Rental’s Emerald Club Lounge is a wonderful way to spend time before or in between flights. There are plenty of charging stations, accessible for individuals with special needs.
While I was there visiting, there was a staff member on hand to answer questions. My daughter and I sat down and took a rest—her on her iPhone and me on my laptop. Visitors can also get information about the National app, watch National’s new TV commercials featuring actor Patrick Warburton and enroll in National’s award-winning Emerald Club loyalty program.
Currently, it is open to all travelers. The pop-up Emerald Club Lounge is available in Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Sacramento (SMF), Washington Dulles (IAD), and here in St. Louis (STL) until April 2017. Afterwards, the pop-ups will travel to other selected city airports, which are based on the amount of business travelers.
Each lounge is featured in the gate areas in one terminal per airport and is open 24/7 with a National staff member on duty from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Will you be checking out the Emerald Club Lounge during your next flight?

My husband loves using National Car rental company. He loves being able to choose the car that he wants. I don’t know if he has used the emerald club though.

I’d love to know when this is coming to Atlanta. I know so many families who travel and need a place to relax/wind down for a second between car and plane.
