Create a fabulous Valentine Hearts Garland DIY for your home
If celebrating Valentines Day is your thing, then I have a treat for you! In order to make it festive around these parts, I crafted a Valentine Hearts Garland DIY, and it is perfect for pretty much anywhere in your home. You can hang it on the mantle, the door, headboard, stairway, and pretty much anywhere else you’d like, and what’s more, it’s pretty cheap to make!
All you need is the following:
- Construction paper (red, white, pink sheets)
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- String
- Valentines Paper Clips (optional)
Simply grab your construction paper and fold it half, then cut out hearts. Keep in mind that you can make multiple hearts at one time. Once you have cut out your hearts, measure how long you want your garland to be, and then cut the string to that length. Then take your hearts and use your hole punch to punch a hole through the heart in the center (about 1-1.5 inches from the top of the heart).
Now you are ready to assemble the garland. Simply begin stringing the hearts through the string using the hold you punched. For a full look, use different size hearts.
Your Valentine Hearts Garland DIY is complete.
This is a wonderful DIY activity for you and your child to do together, and you can make multiple ones to hang all over the house. My daughter helped me with this craft during a snow day home from school, and it kept her busy and occupied, as she also created one for her room.
Total time for the one shown in this post was about 15 minutes from start to finish.
You can also store the Valentine Hearts Garland to use for next year, or you can reuse or recycle for another project.
