During a recent trip to Phoenix for the Mom 2.0 Summit conference, Around the World in Pink co-founder Raijean Stroud and I got the opportunity to stay at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center for the last two days of our trip. Nestled in what is described as Old Scottsdale on McCormick Ranch, the resort is AAA Four Diamond and is embarking on a massive multi-million dollar renovation, due to be completed in September. We were able to stay at the resort compliments of the Scottsdale Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, so I am sharing with you my five favorite things about the property.
Tranquility
Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center is awesomely appointed and features massive desert like scapes and canyon views. I love the look and feel of the property, and the tranquil environment it brings. While visiting the resort, I felt comfortable and relaxed, as everything from the fountains in the entry driveaway to the scenic lobby and decor gave peaceful and serene vibes. Not stuffy nor cookie cutter like other resort properties, one can feel like they are truly getting away from it all. It has a feel of an oasis respite away from busy life. Perfect for personal travel to get in some much needed relaxation and rest.
Staff
The staff at the resort was amazing. From the time we pulled up until we checked out and departed, we were treated in a royal fashion. From the little things like bringing ice to our room when the valet brought our bags, to ordering room service for us when one of us got a craving after handing over the keys to the valet (wasn’t me, though), I loved the treatment we received when we got there. When you are spending your money on a quality vacation, you don’t just want a place to look nice. You want them to treat you well and go out of their way to make sure you are accommodated. I felt happy and well taken care of during our stay. And I would come back just for the hospitality.
Amansala Spa
I am told that Amansala means “peace and serenity”. And I can honestly say that during my treatment at the spa, I felt just that. I selected the Body Renewal Treatment which included a seaweed exfoliating wrap and an aromatic massage, and it was quite possibly one of the best spa experiences I’ve had. And trust me, I have had a lot of them. The spa isn’t as fancy as some other places I’ve been to, but the service, the treatment, and the overall quality of what I received was perfection and it was a highlight of my stay at the resort.
Comfy Room
Our room was a nice size and was outfitted with a large window overlooking the golf course. With two beds, flat screen TV, table and chairs, desk, large closet, and sink and beauty area outside of the bathroom, it was perfect for us. Not a large suite, but still with added special touches, I looked forward to spending time in our room in between activities. The rooms will get a boost and an update during the renovation taking place this summer, and we were able to get a sneak peak of the new guest rooms and they are absolutely gorgeous. I am looking forward to coming back and staying in the new rooms as well.
Lobster Bisque @ Palm Court
Excuse me while I showcase my inner foodie. Raijean and I dined at the Palm Court Restaurant during our last night on the property and noshed on a lot of edible goodness. The most memorable thing for me was the lobster bisque, which was hands down the best I’ve had in my life. I promise you, I am still thinking about that soup and it’s been some days since we’ve been there. If you are staying at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center, you must dine at Palm Court and have the lobster bisque as your appetizer. So freaking good, I had to give my compliments to the chef.
All-in-all, I would highly recommend the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay while in the Phoenix area.
Special thanks to the Scottsdale CVB and the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center for the wonderful accommodations and memorable experience.

TOO BAD, this resort is going to destroy their beautiful entrance, by tearing OUT
LARGE trees and Palms that not only add to the look of the resort, but provide
necessary shade which is SO needed in The BRUTAL HOT months of Az, which
runs SIX months, from Mid April thru Mid October. According to their rendering
on the website, only concrete and a teeny median strip, filled only with flowers…..
how Very Sad.
Also, a HUGE stucco (?) ‘monument’ with their LOGO, that looks SO awful, it is
beyond belief that anyone with the authority to OK that has any DESIGN sense at all. Plus how is that getting city approval, while ALL THEIR NEIGHBORING RESORTS have only 5-6 foot high signs ?????? One wonders.
The look of this resort will forever be changed and not in a good way, how can it
when they PULL out more than a DOZEN massive trees and palms. I guess there
are No Tree Huggers at this resort or within the Destination Resort Family.
So, goes the quaint entrance of this resort and in its place, another cookie-cutter
look, but this time it looks less like a resort, and more like a ‘strip mall’ entrance..
