…or Weight Watchers? Or Nurti System? The past ten years have seen such celebs as Queen Latifah, Whoopi Goldberg, Marie Osmond, Valerie Bertinelli, Phylicia Rashad,Kirstie Alley, and others jump on the diet plan bandwagon. Most recently, singer Jennifer Hudson and actress Sara Rue have joined Team Weight Watchers and Team Jenny Craig prospectively but the bigger question is: do not all not so skinny celebrities HAVE to go on a weight loss plan?
Of course being healthy is most important. Overweight people are most susceptible to diabetes, heart disease, and other complicated health issues. Being healthy means staying at a healthy weight and watching your diet and the foods you eat. But none of the stars that I listed above were ever clinically obese, so why the fascination with diet plans? Can we have a celebrity with a little meat on her bones?
I LOVE Jennifer Hudson and I must admit she looks fabulous since losing her weight. But, in my opinion, there was nothing wrong with Jennifer before. No, she was not a twiggy, but she was not a huge girl before. I understand that in the spotlight, stars feel the need to be as perfect as possible, but what type of message are we sending to our children? That if you are a pound or two overweight, or have a little stomach pouch, you need to go on a diet plan?
What about excersising and watching what you eat WITHOUT spending a fortune on meal plans and direction.
Food for thought.
As someone who is currently undergoing weight loss, I know it’s all about how you feel about your body. I am sure that the women mentioned above felt some kind of way about theirs. But I also think there is nothing wrong with a Jennifer Hudson, or a Valerie Bertinelli BEFORE they got on Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig.
What do you think?
I mean, after all, it is all about the almighty dollar. Companies like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and Nutri System pay millions in order to tout celebrity endorsements. But don’t you think the line must be towed somewhere?

The sad part is that Weight Watchers & Jenny Craig are seeking out celebs the way I seek chocolate after a savory meal…it ain't pretty. I agree there was never anything remotely wrong with Ms. Husdon's curves even recently giving birth and she's tall. She can work it!

I have always loved Jennifer's curves. I guess what's most important is how she feels about her own body. I do not believe that Hollywood should be nothing but curve-less women.

I liked Sara Rue back in the day when she and Sherri Shepherd were on that ABC sitcom, Less Than Perfect. I noticed though as the seasons progressed her shape diminished. There was nothing wrong with her shape before but I always wondered what was the true source of the sudden change. If the person loses it the old fashioned way without us hearing about a personal trainer that came to their house everyday or without some pill or marketable diet/weight loss plan, it doesn't bother me. Do you, baby.
