A few weeks ago, I brought you an interview that I conducted with Jason Caston, Digital Platforms and Innovation Specialist at The Potter’s House/T.D. Jakes Ministries, and the creator of the iChurch Method. During the interview, he shared with me his iChurch Method and how it is being used at churches and faith based organizations all over the world. Our digital lifestyle encompasses so much of what we do—and with that, can help us with our spiritual side. Through the use of technology, we can enhance our faith experience. Churches are utilizing technology to reach members inside and outside of the church and parishioners are staying plugged into their church’s message with the help of iPads, social media, podcasts and more.
With technology, there is no longer a limit to our overall faith experience.
AT&T has launched their Inspired Mobility campaign to showcase the many positives of merging faith and technology. With the campaign, they want users to experience technology within their church and share with others. In doing so, AT&T hopes to uplift and inspire others.
AT&T’s Inspired Mobility campaign kicked off during Blogging While Brown last month.
AT&T also conducted a survey about faith and technology and it it, we learned that “more than 90% of participants said that mobile technology has a place in their faith community, and agreed that, when used to enhance or share the worship experience, mobile devices have a positive impact”.
As a kick-off of the AT&T Inspired Mobility campaign, I am giving away a iPad Mini compliments of AT&T. To enter to win, simply leave a comment below of what your Inspired Mobility looks like. Do you use technology at church, or to connect with faith based organizations? Do you follow churches online on social media? These are all prompts that you can answer to enter to win.
One (1) winner will be selected at random, and the winner will be announced on my social feeds. The giveaway ends on Monday, August 11th at 7pm CST. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only, void where prohibited.
You can learn more about AT&T’s Inspired Mobility campaign here.
Good luck to everyone who enters!

In group discussion at Church I have used my android phone, but for visual clarity I really could have used a IPAD mini. To keep abreast on uplifting events in my NC area I do follow a couple of faith based organizations . I seem to have a tendency to follow more faith based individuals.

My church is very active on social media. I’ve tweeted @BuckheadChurch to ask about service changes during a holiday weekend and I’ve tweeted out a quote from a message.
For instance, this Sunday I tweeted “Jesus needs to be experienced, not explained” and tagged the pastor: https://twitter.com/MommyTalkShow/status/488457632555233281

I don’t feel good about using technology at church. I’m slow to embrace it but I do realize times are changing and this is becoming the new norm. I tried downloading the Bible app and it got some use for a few weeks then I ignored it because nothing beats picking up the actual Bible to refer to my scriptures.
Suzanne says
Inspired mobility is using mobile device and platforms to increase your connection to positivity. I love reading the bible and other inspirational texts from my phone. Doesn’t matter where I am, I can always choose to be encouraged.

Hi, there! I am still looking for the right church. However, one of the churches I’ve visited sends me updates on what is going on via e-mail. I thought this was interesting as I’ve never heard of a church mailing list!

I don’t have a problem using technology in a place of worship but I kind of like the old school approach. I don’t personally use technology when I am physically there but I do use apps on my phone to stay connected and for daily inspiration so in a way, I definitely support it. Thanks for this amazing giveaway chance!
GB says
I am actually pretty old school and don’t use technology when it comes to faith really at all as of now but I’d definitely like to feel more connected and tap into all the inspirational potential out there for those that use technology.

I will stream a live service from my church to watch at home. I don’t follow churches online via twitter or facebook, but if they have a website then I check their updates on a weekly basis. I don’t post to twitter or facebook during service.

Love the idea of inspired mobility and what it means for making spirituality and technology complementary. I use social media to connect with likeminded seekers trying to understand our place in this vast universe, and our purposes while here. Feeling connected in this way in immensely powerful!

My inspired mobility is being connected to other Christians through social media like twitter, love reading and reaching out about my faith to followers, they give my soul a lift up at times that I need it, due to my illness I cannot make it to my Lord’s home and being connected through technology helps me in so many ways.
DJ Chuang says
Yes, I’ve been following churches online for several years now, especially the ones with online worship. I also love to use my mobile phone during worship services to use social media as a way to share quotes from the message, but sometimes I don’t get any internet or cell signal, and that’s a show stopper. I hope Inspired Mobility will mean more connectivity availability. #grin
