I love reviewing new haircare products, especially those that are created for natural hair. My daughter and I both have natural hair. My daughter is nine and has been sans any chemicals. I went natural in 2011 and haven’t looked back since. I am currently rocking box braids as my protective style, so when I was sent a bottle of CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner, I knew I would not be able to do a completely helpful review of the product. But my daughter, The Chicklet, well it could be used and reviewed on her tresses.
My daughter has a 3a/3b curl pattern. She typically goes between a blow out and flat iron style, two strand twists, and twistouts. My cousin is a licensed cosmologist and has been doing The Chicklet’s hair for about three years now. During her last salon visit, I brought with me the CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner so it could be used on her hair.
Here’s the review:
Smell- The first thing you notice about CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner is the smell. It definitely smells like coconut, but also like a sweet confection like a tropical cake batter (but not in an annoying way). The smell is simply awesome and once it sits on the hair for 3-5 minutes as recommended in the directions on the bottle, your hair smells amazing—even after rinsed.
Workability- The slip on the product is wonderful. My daughter’s hair isn’t tightly curled, but she has a lot of hair, and it can be hard to detangle and comb through. The product made it easier to be distributed and combed through evenly. My cousin was impressed by this a lot.
Rinse- Once rinsed, the curl pattern of my daughter’s hair was enhanced and more defined. If you are looking to wear your hair in it’s natural curly state, or even in a protective style via twist and braid outs, you will love the look you will be able to achieve with CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner.
Style- For this go-round, I opted for a blowout and flat iron on my daughter’s hair. During the blowout section-by-section process, my cousin noted that my daughter’s hair was well moisturized due to the conditioner. Typically, it is a little dry at this point and heat styling agents have to be added. On this go around with CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner, she only added moisture products during the finishing of my daughter’s hair.
I would highly recommend this product to people who want a conditioner that adds definition to their curls while giving them added moisture. CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner is currently sold in Walmart and Target as well as on their website, here. The CURLS line of products are available for all hair types and textures.
CURLS also makes a line for kids and babies. I haven’t tried their kids’ line, but the way their CURLS Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner worked on The Chicklet’s hair, they’ve got a customer (and my cousin will be using it in her salon as well).
