A few weeks ago, I traveled to New York to attend Time to Play’s 2013 Holiday Showcase. I also took the opportunity to fly out my nineteen year old son who is living in Los Angeles. See, it was his first trip to the Big Apple and I wanted to enjoy the city with him. We only had two full days together because he had to get back to LA for work, but during those short 48 hours, we got in a lot. It is a trip that I will never forget.
I curated ten of my favorite Instagrams from our trip and wanted to share them with you. If you’ve read about my story of being a teen mom, then you may understand why this trip was so special to me. The fact that he and I are able to spend time together traveling is a blessing. And it also shows that anything is possible, even when you start off with the chips stacked against you.
See our trip in Instagrams below:
After catching a 6am flight and traveling for almost six hours, my son was tired. But he still wanted to see the city so we did it via the subway
Times Square at sunset. It’s a beautiful thing!
My son loves Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. So I took him to the home of soul food in Harlem.
Harlem Blues…

I love this kid!

My son and I met THE Patricia Field, award winning costume designer from Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty, and many others!
Got the opportunity to see Romeo and Juliet on Broadway with fellow blogger Nadia from JusticeJonesie.com. Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad were awesome!
This is one of the most wonderful places on earth. Finally got a shot of it during the day.
I am hoping to plan another trip for just he and I to partake in. I would love to take him to London. Perhaps next summer. We will see how that goes. 🙂
