Yep, you read it right—vacation. Oftentimes when I travel, it is for business. Even when I add an extra day to a conference I am attending or an appearance I am scheduled to be at, it’s still hard to switch from business to personal. But on my recent trip to Miami, it was all about pleasure. I was not there in any business capacity, but only to live it up on South Beach for a few days with a good friend. We treated ourselves to the beach, good food, good times, and epicness.
But a girl’s trip isn’t complete unless she Instagrams some pictures from her getaway. While I tried not to overdo it with the pictures (because no one likes it when people overshare), I did manage to share some pictures of my fab time in Miami.
Here are my favorite Instagrams from my vacay:
When I first arrived in Miami, it was rainy and drab. Despite that fact, though, I headed out after checking into the hotel to take in a little bit of Ocean Drive that morning. Clouds and all, I was happy to be there:
For me, a trip to Miami isn’t complete until I visit the Clevelander on Ocean Drive. Did you know that is where scenes from The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner were filmed there? My friend Tanijoy and I bought a “Miami Vice” to share—a mix between a Pina Colada and a Daiquiri. As you can see, it was huge!
Tanijoy’s turn:
The next day we hit the beach and spent several hours there soaking in the sun.
One of the reasons we both decided to visit Miami was to see the last Legends of the Summer Tour concert with Justin Timberlake and Jay Z.
The hotel lobby at The Beacon Hotel where we stayed was gorgeous. This pic does not do it justice. But I did want to strike a pose before we headed out to the Sun Life stadium to see the concert.
Justin and Jay rocked to 99 Problems. The concert was amazing.
More beach time in my favorite purple bathing suit and RiRiBoy lippy.
Big Pink is a Miami institution. Such good food, diner style. Here I am posted up in front of the building.
That mansion you see? It was Tony Montana’s home in the 1983 film, Scarface. Epic, right?
If you haven’t had a non-business trip in awhile, please make sure you do so if you can. Life is too short not to have fun, and there is big world to explore. I plan on doing more personal traveling inside and outside of the states. And of course, I will be Instagramming along the way.
