We all know that visual stimulation these days rules everything. With the success of sites like Pinterest where people pin everything from arts and crafts, fashion, quotes, and more, people want to be moved by what they see. We also want to be presented things differently than in the past, and therefore, be more involved with sharing what we like and how to obtain it with ease. Keep.com is hoping that we continue with the visual Internet medium by changing the way that we shop for items online.
Keep.com’s motto is “consumers with passion” and they hope that these consumers become the merchants that purchases items. According to their website, shoppers can browse Keep and enjoy an endless assortment of handpicked products, follow tastemakers, post their own discoveries, and have an awesome shopping experience while doing so.
It’s simple. On Keep.com, you can peruse all sorts of items—then you can Keep it for later using their bookmarklet or browser toolbar, building your own catalog of items to shop from. You can purchase these items right off of the Keep.com website. Curators, or people who create or sell items, can add their own items to Keep.com and utilize its users to help share their items and sell their products.
The items on Keep.com are fun and playful. Creative and stunning. It’s a great place to find an array of things on one website. You don’t have to open different tabs to do your shopping on different sites. And you are sure to find appealing items.
I’ve been playing around with Keep.com for a few days and I am really liking the feel. It’s definitely for the generation who enjoys Pinterest and Tumblr, and it’s easy to share what you like with others.
Keep.com seems like it would be a fab place to do your holiday shopping, especially if you are looking for different and unique items that aren’t your garden variety type of gift. I’ve already started quite a list of things that I want to purchase—for myself and for gifts for friends.
You can check out Keep.com and learn more about the way they are changing the way that we shop online. Keep.com is also holding a Keepstakes from 10/15 to 11/14, in which they are giving away one unique gift each day to show how diverse the items are on their website are.
Per Keep President and Co-Founder, MaryAnn Bekkedahl:
On Keep, shoppers can browse and enjoy an endless assortment of unique products, follow other “Keepers”, become their own shopkeeper by posting their own discoveries…and most importantly, have an awesome shopping experience. Most image sharing websites do not connect products to purchase, but Keep does. Every items is available for sale, and is one click away from the retailer for checkout and for sharing.

Interesting. I have a ‘shopping list’ board on Pinterest where I only pin stuff that I’m seriously considering buying. It started off as a ‘Christmas 2011’ board that I shared with my mom – er, Santa.
