Almost everyone I know that is currently working has a side hustle. Oftentimes we work at a job that provides money, but not necessarily provides passion. A Side Hustle is a great way to earn extra income and work on the projects and endeavors which you are passionate about, and I am a firsthand example of someone who took their Side Hustle and made it their full-time job. You can do it too!
Some people have a Side Hustle and they don’t even know that it has a potential to be their business. Side Hustles are usually things that we do in our spare time because we like doing them—but you don’t have to just LIKE doing them, but you can also make it your full-time business. Launching is the first step to making your side hustle work for you.
Here are 7 Ways to Launch Your Side Hustle:
Determine Your Side Hustle-
What is it that you love to do and is marketable and can make money? Chances are, you are already doing your Side Hustle and you don’t even know it yet. Are you making cakes from scratch that the whole neighborhood loves and orders from you? Do you make jewelry and give them as gifts to others? Are you always being hailed for a special talent that has the potential to make money? Look at what is is you are already doing and determine if you can turn it into a Side Hustle.
Promote, Promote, Promote-
Once you’ve determined what it is you want to do, then start doing it. And promote, promote, promote. Let the world know that you are “open” for business and are accepting orders. Get a website, invest in getting it professionally designed if you are uncomfortable with making it on your own and get started!
Social Media-
Social media is a great, inexpensive way to let people know about your Side Hustle. Many of you are already online anyway, so why not use that time to let the world know about your Side Hustle. Start a Facebook business page for your business, get on Twitter and tweet your current sales or specials.
Barter-
To create a buzz, you can start to barter with other businesses. Earlier I mentioned getting a website created. Find someone you can work with who does websites and barter with them. Do you cater? Offer to cater their next event in exchange for services. Bartering can be a win/win when done correctly.
Just because we are good at something doesn’t mean we can make it into a good business. Learn what works for you. If you make cakes, start off small and perhaps only offer three cakes instead of all of the cakes you can make. Slowly introduce new cakes onto your repertoire, and discontinue to make the cakes that aren’t selling as well to keep your profit up and your overhead low.
Start Small-
Work out of your home. Start small by registering your business locally in your city and state. You can always pay to register your business worldwide later once more money comes in. Take small steps, but don’t be afraid to take risks and make changes when necessary.
Business Plan-
Having a business plan is a great way to launch your Side Hustle and stay on task with your goals. You can easily create a Business Plan on your own with a template on your computer. No need to pay someone.
A side hustle can turn into an opportunity to do what you love and make money. But if you never officially launch it and go after it, it could turn into a wasted opportunity.

Excellent advice! Especially about the bartering. We didn’t think about this very much when we started but I wish we had.
