I think we can all use a Spa Day during this stressful time. If you’re like me, you may miss going to get a manicure or pedicure, or a facial, or even a massage. In my city, we are still under Stay in Place orders indefinitely, so those services are out of reach for me and my family.
Thanks to my friends at MasqueBar, my brood and I were able to have a Spa Day in our very own home while staying safe. A little pampering never hurt anyone, so here are a few things we do to Make it a Spa Day at Home While Isolating.
Soothe
Carve 50 to 60 minutes focusing on soothing yourself and relaxing. During our most recent Spa Day at home, we all partook in facials. I needed a facial to soothe my skin since it’s been oily lately and prone to breakouts, and my partner needed some eye mask love. My daughter wanted to try a sheet mask.
Select products that are created for your skin type. I have oily skin, but my daughter has dry skin. We both opted to use different MasqueBar masks for our skin types, and once we were done, we both felt a soothing difference.
You can order MasqueBar products online, or in many Target stores. My daughter loves their Rose Gold Foil Sheet Mask, and I enjoy their Luminizing Charcoal Peel Off Mask which helps shrink pores and clear skin.
Refreshments
Make your Spa Day at home a fabulous fete by having some refreshments on deck. Fruit, cheese, and even a glass of sparkling wine make for a great experience, and you will begin to truly feel like you are really at spa, even if you’re in your residence.
Music
Play up the experience by cueing up a Spa Day at home playlist of music that is relaxing and helps to reduce stress. Tunes from Sade, Anita Baker, with some jazz notes always do the trick. You can also search for spa music on YouTube, Apple Music, or Spotify.
Assist
Take turns assisting one another with pampering. Have your mate apply your sheet mask, or give you a shoulder or foot massage using essential oils. Help your daughter with a manicure by soaking her hands and rubbing her cuticles with cuticle oil. Having a Spa Day at home means helping one another relax, relate, and release.
Oh, and don’t forget the robes.
Have Fun
The most important thing for a Spa Day at home is to make sure that it is a fun experience for everyone involved. Relax, enjoy one another’s company, and make it as zen-like as you can. We all have to make the most out of the time that we are spending inside. Make sure to make it count.
