Happy birthday to me!
I’ve hit another milestone—I’m officially 44. I am a year older, a year wiser, and have done a lot of growing during the past year. While many people may not be happy with the fact that they are getting a year older, I am elated. Turning 44 makes me happy, and I feel I’ve earned every ache, pain, gray hair, and strained vision that these years have given me.
44 is a nice and round number, which also happens to be the number of my favorite President of all time (when I turn 45, I just may skip the festivities, because—-well, you can figure it out). I’m feeling my full adult steez as I approach middle age, and I think I am aging quite well if I do say so myself.
I don’t have anything poignant to share about my birthday. I could write out a blog post about 44 lessons I’ve learned my 44 years, but that wouldn’t be original or authentic. Instead, I will share what I am looking forward to most as I turn 44.
Here we go….
Growing pains
I’ve been back in Corporate America for a little over a year, and I am looking forward to growing my skill-set and expertise as it comes to being a Director of Social Media. I am ready to grow even more and spread my wings even further professionally. The sky’s the limit, and I hope to be able to share more soon.
Hey lover
I’m rediscovering what it feels like to be in love and partnership with someone. While it is still fresh and semi-new, I am looking forward to us thriving in the Black Love department, and it looks like we’ve hit our stride.
More travels
While I still travel more than the average person, I haven’t been able to travel as much this year due to my position. I hope to do more jet-setting while I am 44, and have a few trips planned already. I plan to travel to some new places that I haven’t visited before, and hoping to make some new memories along the way.
Work it out
43 saw me more fit and in shape than I’ve been in years, but lately I’ve been slipping. I am recommitting myself to working out more regularly than I have these past few months, while eating cleaner.
So, that pretty much sums up my turning 44 birthday thoughts and plans. Here’s to 44 being my best year yet!
