We are at the time of year where everything is in red, white, and blue celebratory fashion. What better way than to mix patriotic fare with yummy (and healthy) fruit that the whole family can enjoy?
Each year, I make these Red White and Blue Fruit Mason Jars for us. They not only make a good breakfast or snack, but they can be made ahead of time and are pretty easy to pull off.
No matter if you are celebrating with a group of family or friends, or keeping your holiday low-key, you can’t go wrong.
Here’s what I use to make my Red White and Blue Fruit Mason Jars:
- Bananas (half of a banana for each jar)
- Blueberries (one medium size box can make four jars)
- Stawberries (one medium size box can make four jars)
- Whipped Cream, Vanilla, or Plain Yogurt
Just cup your fruit and begin layering. One red layer, white layer, one blue layer. Repeat until full, but do not overfill. Leave room so that you can seal the jar.
If you have older kids, they can help you cut up the fruit. For younger kiddos, you can help teach them patterns by having them fill the mason jars with the layers.
You can make these and take them on the go to the park, picnic—pretty much anywhere. Make sure to keep them cool in a cooler for maximum yumminess.
