Back to school time signals one true fact—papers, papers, and more papers.
With all of the forms that needs to be completed by parents, some of us will definitely suffer from carpal tunnel. I feel like a celebrity signing all of the forms that are a prerequisite for kids returning back to school.
Paperwork is something that we will all have to deal with not only at the beginning of the school year, but throughout the term. These papers can easily be lost or accidentally thrown away if you don’t have an organized system.
Last year after misplacing several forms that ended up causing a lot of stress (my daughter was not too happy with me when I couldn’t find the signed paperwork that actually counted as a grade), I came up with a foolproof solution to keep the both of us from spending time always looking for them.
Chalkboard magnet clips.
With my magnet clips for important papers, you are able to create a drama-free system that is easy enough for everyone to execute.
It works like this—the important papers that are due or need to be signed are placed on one clip. Then the signed and completed paperwork is placed on one as well.
Viola!
The fridge is the perfect place for chalkboard magnet clips, but you can put them in pretty much any area that is best for your home.
No more looking for papers, or asking if they’ve been signed or not.
These chalkboard magnet clips do all of the work for you.
Here’s what I used:
- Chalkboard Clips from Target Dollar Spot
- Magnet tape
- Chalkboard pen
- Mod Podge
- Scissors
If you can’t find the chalkboard clips, you can buy clothespins and glue chalkboard tags on them.
That is it!
On the back of the clips, cut a strip of the magnet tape and affix it to the clip with Mod Podge. Repeat. Let set overnight to dry fully.
Here’s a quick video tutorial on how to make them:
With it, you can make a self-contained In and Out Center that the whole family can use. And if you have more than one child, you can assign a Chalkboard Magnet Clip to each child by simply putting their name on it. That way, the paperwork is always separated for better organization.
As you can see, these Chalkboard Magnet Clips are easy to make and are inexpensive to create.
This is one hack that will save you time, stress, and energy.
