When you Shop Small this holiday, think of giving the gift of chocolate from Bissinger’s.
Disclosure: I was invited to a holiday themed media event as a guest of Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier here in St. Louis.
Chocolate. Just the word alone can expel smiles, shouts of joy, and even a tear or two. Widely loved by all ages, it’s a treat that always makes a lasting impression. And when it’s created by a company steeped in tradition all the way from France to the midwest, you know the love that went into it tastes like perfection.
During a recent media event in my beloved hometown, I was reintroduced to Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier. I became aware of the chocolate confectionary about ten years ago while shopping in the Central West End. I gave it as a suggestion gift suggestion to my beau, who surprised me with a box of Bear Claws.
Bissinger’s closed their shop for the evening and allowed us blogger types to get to know the history behind the brand while noshing on yummy goodness with treats from 23 City Blocks Catering. There was even a wine and chocolate pairing with Manhattans and Blood Orange Fresh Cream Truffle.
Created in the 1600’s in France, Bissinger’s moved stateside in mid 1800’s, first to Cincinnati, and then to St. Louis, where they’ve called their home since 1927.
Bissinger’s has so many varieties of chocolate to choose from and feature flavor combinations that everyone on your holiday list will enjoy. If you aren’t in St. Louis, you can order their handcrafted goodies online via their website. They ship internationally, making gift giving a snap!
If you are lucky enough to live in the Gateway to the West, you can stop in for pleasurable delights at their shoppe at 32 Maryland Plaza in the Central West End. They also have locations at Plaza Frontenac, West County Centre, and Saint Louis Galleria. The handcrafted chocolatier has also opened up their manufacturing facility for tours at 1600 North Broadway.
I plan to Shop Small this holiday season, and Bissinger’s is on my list for sure.
