Disclosure: As a member of the #RIFamily Ambassador program for Marriott Residence Inn, I have been compensated for reviewing and sharing my travel stay on my blog.
Over the years, Chicago has become a second home to me. Merely 4 hours away from my hometown of St. Louis, it is a place I often visit for both work and play. I enjoy going to the unabashed Second City to take in the sights and sounds as well as the many years of history it owns, so I am there several times a year. During a trip back in August, I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn Chicago Downtown property for a quick overnight jaunt. As a Residence Inn Family Ambassador, I enjoy staying at various RI locations, and the Chicago Downtown/Michigan Avenue gem was just what the doctor ordered.
Situated near the Magnificent Mile, Lakeshore Drive, and the prestigious Water Tower Place, it’s a must-stay for people who want to be close to everything. For a traveling family, American Girl Place and the Lego Store are only a few minutes walk from the hotel, which is also surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shopping enclaves.
But of course, it isn’t just about location for your hotel of choice must fit the bill for all of your needs. I especially was pleased with the size of the room at the Marriott Residence Inn Chicago Downtown. Complete with a full kitchen, dining area, living room, full bathroom, and separate bathroom with massive closet space, it is definitely family friendly and perfect for kids. There’s room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves, and with the kitchen, you can opt to serve a few meals at “home” rather than dine out all of the time. This can be a huge money saver, especially in the downtown area which can prove costly for meals.
For you business travelers, this location is especially fabulous, since you have plenty of working space. There’s also high speed internet and a business center for your computer and copying needs.
Breakfast is served every morning and is complimentary for all guests. You can also enjoy the expansive lobby area, which is great for chatting it up with friends or meeting clients.
The hotel is also pet friendly and has garage and valet parking available. You can opt to stay in a Studio, or a 1 bedroom 2-room Suite, which is the type of room I reviewed whilst there.
With a friendly and helpful staff, impeccable accommodations, and prime location, this hotel is a traveler’s dream. I would definitely stay here again.
