The best time to prepare for the holidays is before they start.
And I’m not just talking about the shopping, the invitations, the meals, and all of the fanfare that goes along with entertaining and being festive. I am also talking about taking care of YOU. Looking your best this holiday season means getting ready now, so you can start before all of the chaos begins.
Let me let you in on a little secret. When you are well rested and well taken care of before the holidays begin, it will go a long way to making you look your absolute best for the holiday season. I call the month before Thanksgiving Mommy-Mode. And this is a time when I pamper myself leading up to the most wonderful time of the year.
It means longer bubble baths, aromatherapy, trips to get a manicure and pedicure. And maybe even a nap or two if I can fit it in. When you go into the holidays feeling your best, you usually also look your best too. And with all that you do during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, you deserve it.
How can you do a little self pampering before the holidays? Here’s a few tips:
Set the Mood
Load in your favorite CD or playlist into your iPod, iTunes player, or portable CD player. My favorite is a playlist I call ‘Golden’ that has tune-age from favorites Jill Scott, Mariah Carey, Sade, Beyonce, Adele, and Alicia Keys (to name a few). Light a scented candle or two and enjoy a little aromatherapy.
Luxuriate
Draw a luxurious bubble bath utilizing your favorite bath beads or bath soak. You can also add just a touch of baby oil to help moisturize skin. If you do add this, do not use with bubble bath because the oil will deplete the bubbles.
Soak and Prime
Get into the tub and soak a bit. This will allow your skin to get soft and supple. Exfoliate using a skin brush or loofa to remove access, dead skin. Also, utilize a pumice stone to rid your feet of the scale-like hard skin that makes our feet rough.
Cleanse and Correct
Cleanse your skin thoroughly. In order to properly open your pores so they can be cleansed, you can use a facial steamer. If you don’t have a steamer, you can simply use a bowl of hot water and a cloth. Cover your face over the bowl of hot water and allow the steam to work it’s magic. Then clean your skin like you normally would. You will have a nice glow and your skin will look soft and supple.
Follow this up with RoC’s Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream if you are doing this before bed. It reduces the look of expression lines and deep wrinkles and will give you amazing skin that people will be complimenting you about over the holidays. RoC has been a leading French skincare brand for over 50 years, and their products guarantee visible and lasting results for healthier, younger looking skin.
I’ve been using it for about three weeks now, and I definitely see an improvement in my skin, especially around my eyes. Those wrinkles don’t stand a chance.
After four weeks, you should see that skin is more radiant and crow’s feet are visibly reduced.

I have some Roc products I received at a blogging event. I really need to use them and step up my skin care. I’ve noticed more breakouts & lines lately.

Have you been experiencing breakouts too? I thought being “off age” meant we could forget all of that. LOL. I’m planning on getting a good facial soon to help get rid of some of those breakouts. 🙂
