I’m an entrepreneur who works out of my home office 95% of the time, but I like to shake things a little by venturing out to office at other spaces. Starbucks, Panera Bread, and Barnes and Noble are often my choices when I want to change scenery, but it is hard to get serious work done there when you need a printer and other office amenities that these places simply don’t have. After hearing about Industrious’ location in Chicago and their office flexible office space for freelancers, startups, and creatives, I was pleased to learn that there was a new location here in St. Louis and I would be able to take it for a test drive and share my experience with my readers.
St. Louis has a growing millennial community of start ups and entrepreneurs, so it’s pretty much a no-brainer that Industrious would fit the needs of many here in the area (me included). As soon as you step into the downtown loft space, you are instantly taken with the immense layout and spaciousness. The floor plan is 10,000 square feet of expansive digs with a communal workspace for co-working, a beverage and snack station for clients and guests, a reception area, printer stations, and an array of private office spaces sectioned off with glass walls. The space also includes two conference rooms that tenants can schedule and use to meet with customers and clients.
After I was given a tour, I went to work right away on a few articles for my blog. The creative atmosphere boded well for my writing, as I was able to get work done, take some calls, and soak up the high speed wifi while listening to music that wafted through the common area space. I met a few of the other tenants of the Industrious St Louis workspace, and it seemed like a very diverse crew of individuals all working towards the same goal—world domination.
Another positive for Industrious is that because it has a super huge floor plan, it lends well to collaborating with others in the space. With the array of professionals in the space, you have expertise at your fingertips within the same area that you are in.
Here are a few other amenities available to Industrious St Louis tenants:
- 100 Mbps up/100 Mbps down Fiber Wifi.
- A completely complementary cafe that includes coffee and beer from local businesses. They serve Blueprint Coffee, craft beer from 4 Hands, and have fresh pastries daily.
- Use of the communal lounge to conduct meetings, meet clients, and host events.
- Bloody Mary on the last Friday of every month.
- Wednesday Beer and Popcorn Happy Hour.
Industrious St Louis is currently taking applications for private office spaces and also has co-working options available as well.
Industrious also has locations in Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Columbus. New workspaces will be available soon in Detroit, Raleigh, Nashville, and Minneapolis.
