The last day or so has been rough for me. I’ve been battling an asthma attack while trying to meet deadlines while spending some bonding time with my daughter. There’s one thing for certain—when you are a mom, it doesn’t matter if you are sick or not feeling well. The show must always go on.
So, I got myself up this morning and I am on a mission to have a great Mother’s Day. This is my 20th Mother’s Day (wowzers), and I can tell you that it never gets old. I’ve often said that I feel like I was born to be a mother. Even at the young age of 18 when I had my son, I embraced my motherhood. Being a mom is the most important thing to me, and I feel so blessed to be able to do so.
This year, I plan on basking in my family’s love while spending some time with my youngest and my mother. We have brunch plans followed by some family time, something we need more of. Despite my current asthma issues, I am not going to let it take away from this special day.
Being a mom means to me that you sacrifice, you love, you encourage, you share wisdom, and you give yourself to your kids and your family. My mommyhood has taught me that there is no greater love than the love of a mother to a child. It is a blessed love that is true and prevailing. And it never fails.
Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours! Enjoy!
