My daughter is a huge fan of American Girls. I will say that when they first appeared on my radar a few years ago, I wasn’t too fond of them. I thought the dolls in all of their overpriced glory cost too much. And I still feel that way. But I also love the themes and positivity that they represent. They help instill wonderful values in our girls, not only with their dolls, but with their books, crafts, and activities. From bullying, to being a good friend, to overcoming obstacles, American Girl is a brand that I have come to know and love.
And The Chicklet, well she loves everything about them. We bought her first American Girl doll in 2011, and since then, she has acquired five of them. They all play an important role in her playtime sessions.
The last several seasons, we have a “photoshoot” for her American Girl dolls. With it being summer, The Chicklet rounded up her dolls and their dog Coconut for a summer picture on our deck. She also insisted that we do a video chronicling the beginning of their summer.
Below is the result of her American Girls Summer of Fun Video:
The Chicklet took the pictures used in the video and “directed it” by compiling them in the video. With minimal assistance from me, she created her own masterpiece featuring Kanani, Molly, Lola, Mckenna, and Isabella.
Check out the video yourself and let The Chicklet know your thoughts.
