Disclosure: As a paid Blogger Ambassador for AVON, I will be discussing many aspects of AVON’s brand; from the entrepreneurial side, to career, to beauty tips, AVON staples, and more in a series of posts. The opinions in these articles are mine and are not indicative of the brand.
Regina Means is the personification of a Cubicle Chick, for sure! Like me, she found herself at a crossroads, wanting to create more income flow for her family while working as a professional in the banking industry. Like me, she was the mother of two and needed an income to provide the “extras” for her brood. And like me, she has always been a go-getter that wanted to help others. When you combine all of that with the AVON brand, then you get a winning combination.
Regina began selling AVON in 1991/1992 while working full-time. Her goal was to not to be a full-time AVON Representative, but rather, earn extra money to cover the other things her kids wanted to do, like extracurricular activities and trips. After selling AVON for about fifteen years, Regina saw that she could make more than she was making full-time while helping others reach their potential as well. That is when her career of being a full-time entrepreneur began.
What she liked most about being a full-time AVON Independent Sales Representative was being able to be there for her kids. She could make her own hours and plan around her kids’ schedules. Regina most enjoyed making women feel beautiful on the inside and out with everything AVON offered, and after about six years, she became a part of AVON’s Leadership Program.
Despite popular belief, AVON is, as Regina puts it, “no longer your Grandmother’s AVON”. They are in the front of what’s going on and offers thousands of products for every woman of every age. They also have products for men, children, and babies as well as for the home.
The initial and ongoing interactive training she received has helped make Regina one of the top performers in the U.S.
Being an entrepreneur is hard without the support of family and loved ones. Regina credits her husband who plays a vital role in her business by not only being supportive, but helping her set-up at events. Her daughter also helps drive orders to her customers.
Regina may be an entrepreneur, but her business is not a one-woman show.
Regina also utilizes social media via her Facebook and Twitter page to get the message to connect with clients and potential customers. Instagram and YouTube are also platforms she is learning to use to promote her AVON business.
How does she do it? By working extremely hard, asking for help and training when she needs it, staying ahead of what’s hot and current, and leaning on her family.
“I want to help individuals turn their dreams into reality,” Regina says. And by the looks of it, she is certainly living her entrepreneurial goals.
