I am all for causes that can help improve and save lives. Last year, I was asked to be a part of National Blue and Green Day to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation, and I participated in their Blue and Green Virtual Fashion Show with many other bloggers. This year, I am once again participating to lend my voice to the cause, because thousands die each year while waiting on an organ transplant.
Here in Missouri, anyone of driving age can become an organ donor (a parent or guardian can give consent for a child). All that is needed is consent, which can be given on your driver’s license. In fact, many states have this same program in place within their license bureaus, so it can be easy breezy to become an organ donor.
Currently, there are not enough donors to meet the demand; when we talk of organ donation, we are speaking of organ, eye, and tissue vital donations that could save someone’s life. According to Donate Life Missouri, 18 people die each day while waiting on a transplant. If more people donated their organs upon death, think of the lives that could be saved. Currently, there are over 2,000 people in the state of Missouri alone waiting on an organ transplant.

If you are a Missouri resident, you can also register to be an organ donor by visiting Donate Life Missouri’s website. You can also consult these sites to learn answers to your frequently asked questions; you can also read about many myths and misconceptions regarding organ donation.
I ask that you show your support for organ and tissue donation by wearing blue and green on Friday, April 19th. I most certainly will be! (Make sure you pin your blue and green look on Donate Life Missouri’s Pinterest page!)
Check out my blue and green look for the Blue and Green Virtual Fashion Show. I am wearing a jade colored romper with an aquamarine blazer, both from Forever 21. I completed the look with Steve Madden peep toe heels. And if you look closely, I am rocking blue polish by Julep in the color “Taylor”.
Will you be joining me in rocking blue and green on Friday, 4/19?
