The International Consumer Electronics Show happened just two months ago, but I am still reaping the rewards and receiving goodies from the event. A few weeks ago, a doozy of a wireless speaker system appeared on my doorstep, compliments of NOKIA. I received their JBL by Harman NOKIA PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for being selected as the winner of their Twitter hashtag contest during the big show, and couldn’t wait to get it up and running so I could see just how powerful the speaker was.
A month or so ago, I raved about the Phillips Wireless Speaker I received also at CES. The speaker is small and compact and perfect for travel and I’ve taken it with me on several recent trips—the smallness of the device didn’t deter the sound. The NOKIA PowerUp is larger and can be taken with you on events—however, I think traveling with it via airplane is probably out the question. This system is good for old fashioned house parties, or just listening to sounds in your home or office. It’s like a mini boom box of sorts.
The bass is a killer, and sound quality is fabulous. When I played it a few times in my bedroom, my daughter wondered where “all of the sound was coming from”. It packs a punch, and is a perfect replacement for those old school stereo systems.
But not only does the NOKIA PowerUp provide quality sounds, but it also charges your NOKIA device wirelessly. Simply place your NOKIA phone (or any Qi-compatible device) on the system and it charges without the use of cords. This works wonderfully for my NOKIA Lumia 922.
You can use the NOKIA PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker by JBL by Harman with any bluetooth device including a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to listen to music or take calls, even. The charger, however, works only for NOKIA specific devices.
The NOKIA PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker retails for $249 on Amazon. The colors available are Cyan (seen on this post), White, and Black.
It’s Cubicle Chick approved, indeed!
