Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching! Are you feeling crafty? Perhaps you need Valentine’s Day favors or greetings for your child’s classroom, youth group, or just want to whip some up for the neighborhood kids. Whatever your need may be, there are lots of fun and creative greetings you can whip up for Valentine’s Day that are not only inexpensive but excellent non-candy alternatives!
You don’t need to break the bank to make these Valentine’s Day greetings, in fact all of the supplies pictured here were purchased at a dollar store! You don’t need a lot of time either, as each of these Valentine’s Day greetings was whipped up in less than ten minutes each. They are perfect for creating with the kiddos, gifting, and for all of your Valentine’s Day needs!

1. You Make Me SMILE Valentine Greeting
Supplies:
Toothbrush (dollar stores sell packs of 3 for $1.00)
String or ribbon
Colored Paper
Scissors
This Valentine’s Day greeting is ideal if your child is unable to bring candy treats for school. Simply cut a heart out of your colored paper and punch a hole in it (just use a pencil to do this). String your ribbon through it and attach to your toothbrush. Add the greeting, “You make me SMILE Valentine!” to your heart. Attach, and give!
2. You Make My Heart GLOW Valentine Greeting
Supplies:
Glow Stix (dollar stores sell packs of 5 for $1.00)
String or ribbon
Colored Paper
Scissors
This one makes a wonderful Valentine’s Day party favor! Simply cut a heart out of your colored paper and punch a hole in it (just use a pencil to do this). String your ribbon through it and attach to your glow stix. Or, you can poke two holes in your heart and string it directly on to the glow stix. Add the greeting, “You make my heart GLOW Valentine!” Your valentine will love getting a fun gift like this and it will surely make them glow!
3. I Was SOAPING You’d Be My Valentine Greeting
Supplies:
Liquid Hand Soap (dollar stores sell name brands for $1.00)
Colored Paper
Scissors
String or ribbon
This is a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift to give to your child’s teacher! Simply cut a heart out of your colored paper and punch a hole in it (just use a pencil to do this). String your ribbon through it and attach to your bottle of hand soap. On your heart write the message, “I was SOAPING you’d be my Valentine!” Cute huh? It is a fun and practical gift!
4. You Are WRITE For Me Valentine Greeting
Supplies:
Pencils (dollar stores sell 12 Valentine’s Day themed pencils for $1.00)
Colored paper
Scissors
Tape
This is another ideal Valentine’s Day greeting if your child is unable to bring candy treats for school. Simply cut a heart out of your colored paper and attach with tape to your pencil. Add the greeting, “You are WRITE for me Valentine!” to your heart. Attach, and give! So practical and fun!
5. Don’t Burst My Bubble Valentine Greeting
Supplies:
Pack of chewing gum
Colored paper
Scissors
sandwich baggies
This is a cute Valentine’s Day favor that adults and children will both love getting! Put the pack of gum (or use gumballs) in a sandwich bag. Cut a “bubble” out of paper. On your bubble write the message, “Don’t burst my bubble Valentine! Be mine!” Enclose the bubble in the bag and give. So cute!
So gather the kiddos around and try whipping some of these greetings up! They are not only fun to make but are a ball to give. Recipients will get a chuckle out of the play on words, and they are a fun alternative to the traditional valentine cards!
