Can you believe it’s December already? We are only about 22 days away from Christmas Day—and it was just Thanksgiving! For me, Christmas is never about receiving gifts because I get the most joy and the best presents when I give to those who are deserving. The smiles that I get back from my loved ones when they open a gift I have made or purchased for them warms my heart and spirit. I am blessed and I like to share those blessings with others.
But a girl can also dream, right? There are a few things that I would like to get for Christmas if dreams did come true. As I did when I was a kid, I like to write a wish list or dream list of items I would like to receive for Christmas. And while I may not get them, you never know when your dream might come true.
So here goes my 2012 Grown Up Christmas List:
- Pink Beats by Dre headphones (this was on my list last year. Maybe this year, Santa will surprise me!)
- An iPad Mini
- A Cannon DSLR Rebel or like camera
- Tory Burch loafers/flats
- Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System
- Storage for my cosmetics
- A trip to Disney World
- A string of pearls
- Bobby Flay Cookware
I told my family not to get me anything this year (and I meant it), so I probably won’t see anything on this list. But that is okay, because the reason for the season isn’t about presents, gifts, or money. After losing my dad earlier this year, I see now more than ever that you have to cherish each day and be thankful for what you do have. Christmas is about the birth of Christ, and that is more important than anything that can be purchased in the store.
Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas, a joyous season, and happiness for you and yours!
What’s on your grown up Christmas list this year?

Great list!
I would like a Kindle Paperwhite but I sure wouldn’t turn down a Clarisonic either. One thing I would really like is laser hair removal treatments.
Christmas isn’t about getting for me either, but I do like to know I’m thought of. I’d rather get a Christmas card with a personal message than the generic newsletter people send. One year we had an imaginary gift exchange, where we printed pages from internet & cut images from print catalogs of what we would get if we could afford it.

Hi Terri. I’ve seen commercials for the Kindle Paperwhite. That would be a fabulous gift! 🙂
