Today, October 16th, has been christened National Boss’s Day, a day devoted to all of the boss chicks and dudes around the U.S. Whether you like your boss or not, today might be a day to show them a little bit of love with a card, flowers, lunch, etc. As a former boss myself, I can tell you that it was always nice to be recognized. Being a boss isn’t easy!
I’ve blogged before about National Boss’s Day, and you can check out my suggestions for gifts HERE. I am sure that your boss isn’t expecting a lot of pomp and circumstance, but it might be nice to at least wish them a great day with an acknowledgement.
I think that sometimes bosses get a bad rap. And trust me, I’ve had my share of bosses who were less than stellar. But being in charge of a bunch of people isn’t for the faint of heart. You’ve got to give it to these people who manage to get paid for bossing people around day in and day out. I mean, don’t we all want to be the boss?
Throw caution to the wind today and be nice to the boss chick or boss dude in your life. Buy ’em a card, or take them out to lunch (and just charge it to your expense account–LOL), or even buy them some flowers or a nice fruit basket. It’s almost time for Christmas bonuses so I am sure you want to make the best impression so you can get a fat check come December!
Since I am my own boss, I am going to celebrate by taking myself out to a well-deserved dinner at my favorite restaurant. I think I deserve it!
