Can you believe we are a week away from Thanksgiving? Time is certainly flying by, and soon, Turkey Day will be upon us. Usually each year, I attend Thanksgiving dinner at my Grandmother’s house, and she and my Aunt usually do all of the prepping and cooking. But since we moved to a new home, I decided to host Thanksgiving dinner at my place. I am a little nervous about being responsible for all of the cooking, but I don’t mind it.—I am getting some help. 🙂
I’ve cooked turkey before, but it’s such a long and tedious process that I don’t want to go through it this year. So I will be purchasing my turkey from Honeybaked Ham. Yes, they are known for their hams, but they also offer turkey, so I thought I would try them out. I am going to be making all of the sides to go along with the turkey as well, and my friends and relatives are bringing dessert.
So this is what’s on my Thanksgiving menu this year:
- Honeybaked Turkey
- Dressing (or stuffing)
- Baked macaroni and cheese
- French onion green bean casserole
- Au gratin potatoes
- Deviled eggs
- Cheese and meat tray
- Peas
- Cranberry sauce
- Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
Even though I am not actually making the turkey (you still have to baste it and cook it for two to three hours before serving), I think that all of the side items will keep me quite busy.
And more than the food, I am looking forward to spending time with my family and loved ones on such an important day of the year. We have so much to be thankful for, and there is nothing in life like your family.
What’s on your Thanksgiving menu?
While I mentioned Honeybaked Ham in this post, this is by no means a sponsored or paid post. I am endorsing them because they are a business I trust and use.
