I never thought I would ever be typing the phrase “ditching Blackberry for an Android”, but the time has finally come. After a lot of soul searching and looking at the direction of RIM and Blackberry, I decided that it was time for me to part ways and jump off of the Blackberry bandwagon.
Yes, my love affair with my Blackberry Bold has come to an end.
How could someone who was so in love with her Blackberry device turn her back on it? Well, after having 3 phones in a year’s time fail and malfunction, I have really gotten frustrated with its unreliability and useability. I am tired of traveling and not being able to work at my full capacity because of Blackberry’s limited operating system. And with each announcement on BBM of others also jumping ship, it was a clue that other people were feeling the same way I was about Blackberry’s poor performance.
My loyalty to Blackberry has now come to an end, friends.
Yesterday, after much thought and careful consideration, I went to the T-mobile store and purchased the My Touch 4g phone. I was almost sold on the Samsung Galaxy, but when I found out that it didn’t have a flash for pictures, I was sold on the My Touch 4g. It’s fast, gives me the web with a large screen, and does everything and more. I can now Skype and face time from my phone. I can also get the thousands of apps that were not available for my Blackberry.
I feel like I am coming out of the dark ages and into the light.
I will miss the wonderfulness that is Blackberry email, as everything appeared in my inbox with a blink of an eye. I will also miss BBM, but since most people were leaving Blackberry for other devices, I was starting to see tumbleweeds.
I am looking forward to a wonderful and prosperous relationship with my Android device.
Have you ditched your phone for another device? Are you still #TeamBlackberry. What’s say you?

I ditched my BlackBerry the SECOND VZW picked up the iPhone.
BlackBerry isn’t TOTALLY out of the smartphone count just yet. They have some sleek new phones and a better OS coming out later this year. As a former #TeamBlackBerry member, I really want to see them strive. If they flop on this next batch of technology (and refuse to REALLY push to get app developers on it’s side)
It’s a wrap for BlackBerry in 2012 #Negrodamus

I’m still #TeamBlackberry, but I’m planning to ditch when iPhone 5 gets here. Unless, that is, you or another Droid-lovin’ friend talks me into reconsidering that path.

I can soooooo relate to this post. I’ve been using a Blackbeery since they had a track wheel on the side and not much as changed with the OS. After researching for months I went from a Blackberry to an Android. I went back to my Blackberry because the Droid lacked a lot of the functions I needed as well as some security issues as well…but I still found myself loving it.
Long story short, I now have 2 lines lol

Welcome to the Droid family! I ditched my BlackBerry a month ago. I was Team BlackBerry since late 2006 but this year I was tempted by the iPhone & the Android phones. I am happier with my HTC than I have ever been with any of my ‘Berries.

Congrats! I made the same switch about a year ago and I haven’t looked back once. I’m still as in love with my Droid Incredible as I was when I first got it.

I recall the days when you were praising team bb hard, I’m so happy you’ve seen the error of your ways 🙂

I just ditched my blackberry also on this past Monday.. I really want the iphone but I need a sensible phone bill so I went with t-mobile and the Galaxy. Even though it does not have a flash the camera is really good! I am happy so far!!

I am now #TeamDroid. I had to give up my beloved blackberry because I could not take the slow browser. Plus it felt like no good apps were available and free. On the HTC Inspire and love it. The one gripe I have against Droid is the email. No one will top blackberry when it comes to email.

You snatched the words right outta my mouth! I was so in love with Blackberry I’ve owned every single one from the Pearl to the Bold, I have even “recruited” friends and family onto Team Blackberry but alas our relationship came to an end in January when I fell hard for a Samsung Vibrant. I tried to keep the friendship on the d/l but my Vibrant was having none of that so I had to come clean and let the Blackberry go. I do miss my push email but the dizzying array of apps have more than made up for that.

After many spontaneous phone resets (even during phone calls!) and system freezes I got fed up with my BB Bold and switched over to a Samsung Epic 4G. I’ve got to say making the switch over to Android was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in phone choices. This phone does everything I need it to do… FAST. And with the amazing amount of apps you can download you’ll never get bored. Download Dolphin HD web browser and you’ll have a web experience like no other… and it includes Flash. Android just seems to make life so much easier while still maintaining great functionality for your professional/business life. Ultimately Android > Blackberry !!!

I have had an HTC Evo (android) since the 2nd batch the produced last year. I woulda had 1st batch but they ran out. I stalked it like a panther waiting for it to drop then BAM! it was MINE! #TEAMANDROIDSUCKAS!!!
BTW, I’m so shocked about you turning from BB … when I think BB I think you but alas, my other girlfriend had ditched her BB as well.

For those of you who love droid but miss the BB email, motorola has the droid pro on the verizon network and promises to have that pro edge that BB is known for. I plan on switching my droidX for it. Wish me luck 😉
