I am not going to spend my time on this current post being sensitive about my previous failed attempts at weight loss. It doesn’t do you or me any good. Instead, I have a new attitude when it comes to shedding weight—it’s a New Year and what better way to start it off than in a more healthier outlook? Some people down others who have resolutions when it comes to their weight—knowing that in a few weeks, the salads will give way to big juicy burgers, and that is usually the case. BUT new beginnings breed new outlook, and once again, I am starting my own weight loss journey.
Today starts day one for becoming more healthy on the inside, which will hopefully reflect on the outside. I went to the grocery store yesterday and picked up my favorite healthy staples to help me get through the day ahead. No soda, no junk, just lean, healthy foods, plenty of water, and exercise.
You won’t see me making big productions on how I am coming along. I will update you guys with my progress here and there until I feel comfortable doing a big before and after reveal. Until then, I appreciate your words of encouragement and tips for weight loss.
Currently, I am a size 12. I would like to go to a 6/7 and lose about 25 lbs from my frame while gaining muscle mass.
Today is the start of a brand new beginning an a brand new me. I am off to start something good. Join me!

Danyelle– I’ve had some success losing weight with a vegan before dinner approach to eating… lost about 15 pounds. It takes some rethinking about how & what you eat, but seems to work.

That does sound interesting. And easy for me since I don’t eat a lot of meat. I do indulge in cheese and dairy though so…it would be worth a try! 🙂

Almond milk’s really helped on the dairy issue… really like it (much better than soy or rice milks). Still haven’t found an answer on things like cheese, though… haven’t tried any of the vegan substitute products.

I tried Silk Almond Milk last year and really liked it. Thanks for getting me to think about creative food choices that can help my weight loss.

hi danyelle!
first and foremost, i love your website – i’ve been a follower of it for a while.
secondly, i’m so going to join you! i am the same size as well, and i actually have a similar goal. i would like to lose 25 lbs by the time of my college graduation this may. i think the approach you are taking is awesome, for i’ve learned as well by making a big production of losing the weight, it doesn’t even happen.
i’m right there with you – best of luck to you, we got this! 🙂

Chantel, thanks hun! Yes, we are going to do this together! It is so important to have others that are going through the same thing you are for support and inspiration.

When I started losing weight I didn’t think of it as oh I have to get on this diet. I thought of it as a life style. Since I’ve had that mind set I’ve been doing well with my weight loss. I hope and wish you lovely ladies with weight loss success

I agree with msdee. Considering your weight loss program as a life long thing is the best practice to make it permanent.
