While perusing my social networks today, I came across a link on Facebook of KTVI Fox 2 news anchor April Simpson’s video. In the video captured on her webcam, she describes the pain she is currently going through while fighting a diagnosed brain tumor.
April Simpson has been on Fox 2 News for several years and works as an anchor on the station’s 11am news broadcast. She also reports breaking local news stories as they happen on the scene.
In the video, she explains the pain she in enduring with the brain tumor. She is poignant, honest, and real in the video. The fact that April is sharing with us the most difficult, challenging, and painful time of her life speaks volumes. Using social networking as a way to get her message out to the masses, puts a face to this horrible medical condition. I applaud April by letting us in to see what she is going through, and I hope you join me in praying for her recovery.
You can follow April on Twitter HERE.
Below is the video that she posted on Oct. 26th where she discussed her current medical condition.

Hello April.I have been keeping up with your progress. You said in one of your videos that God wouldn’t put more on you than you could bear. I see now that your trust is where it should be and the strong faith in God that you have is in the right place(heart). My church has been praying for you since this condition was told to you. God watches over us all, but only the strong survive. Our prayers are with you and your family. I wasn’t always a News 2 fan, but after hearing of your condition I have been watching News 2 to stay on track with your health. God Bless and stay strong. Immanuel. Evelyn

Hello Ms Simpson, I see you all the time and you have never laid eyes on me. I admire your work and I must say that you are a most beautiful lady and I hope you are well again very soon.
As I was getting home today (11-9-2010, 3:26 pm) As I was unlocking my rear door off the patio I saw a gentleman (at the opposite end of my building)that I have never seen before, I went down to introduce myself and I met the most amazing man, he reminded so much of my dad (that I lost two yrs ago). To make a long story short, the man’s name is “Simp” and I guess you know who that is. Your dad is very proud of you. I wish you the best recovery may God always be by your side.
Maybe one day I will be lucky to meet a real star.

Dear April,
My prayers are with you. I have been missing you on Fox News and was thinking you might have left St. Louis for another job. I have admired you for a long time now. So I decided to check Channel 2 website to see if I could find any info about you. I was shocked to see the news about your health problem. I just wanted you to know that I will keep you in my prayers and I know God will bring you through this. May God’s peace and healing be with you.

So thrilled to turn on my television this morning and see April. I lost one of my closest friends to a brain tumor. We have a walk every year for brain tumor research. It’s called Suzy Esstmans Walk on Sunshine. We lost Suzy, but we continue her fight! Come to Queeny Park on Sunday June 6 and make a sign that you are walking for April! we have many families that come with signs of loved ones fighting the hard battle. We are thankful that April is with us and looking as beautiful as ever!
