St. Louis was abuzz last night again for the Magic of Macy’s event at the St. Louis Galleria, night #3 of St. Louis Fashion Week. Macy’s was turned into a runway of epic proportions with looks by Rachel Roy, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole, and more. One thing I learned last night is St. Louis is indeed a city that is a slave of fashion. Forget what you’ve heard about Midwest tendencies of frumpiness, we are a stylish city with dynamic looks and styles. Dare I say we are fashion elite?
Macy’s put together a well-rounded show of Glam, Modern Funk, and Rocker Chic. Add that with a little Military Inspired and Vintage meet Modern look and you’ve got fabulous and stylish frocks for the fall and winter. Another thing I adored about last night’s show was the attention to outerwear. The peacoats and feathered layers that graced the runway were awe inspiring.
Macy’s has proved that is not just another department store. The styles shown went from the contemporary and affordable to NYFW designer fare. Alive Magazine has continued to outdo itself with it’s lavish productions of fashion awesomeness.
Last night’s fashion show was filled with St. Louis’s glamourous crowd. The proceeds of the event went to the Haven House of St. Louis, a non-profit agency that provides affordable lodging, meals, transportation, and critical support services for families traveling to St. Louis for medical care. Below are pictures from the Magic of Macy’s event as well as some video I was able to capture from the runway. Enjoy!
