I so want to bring out my inner chef! A foodie by nature, and I wish I knew how to create more creative dishes. Which is why I watch Food Network a lot because I find that their talented cooks know how to make delicious food. The next Food Network Star reality show competition ended last week with the winner, Aarti Sequiera, bringing home the title and winning her very own show on Food Network called Aarti Party!
On Aarti Party which premiered yesterday afternoon, Aarti cooks American food with an Indian twist. Her first show featured Sloppy ‘Bombay’ Joes Indian style made with turkey ginger, cumin, raisins, and pistachios. Who knew Sloppy Joes could be made with those ingredients?
Her debut show also featured a massaged kale salad and for dessert? Creamy pistachio pops.
It is good to see that the Food Network in embracing ethnic foods and diverse hosts. We are now seeing different colors, hues, and ethnic food types represented on the network.
Aarti is a fun host with a bright smile, contagious laugh, and unmistakable flower in her hair that has become her trademark. She makes her dishes look simple and easy for cooks like me who need a lot of of instruction and simplicity when it comes to cooking.
Aarti was previously a journalist and blogger, and was born in Bombay, India and raised in Dubai. Aarti was a foodie for most of her life and was taught to cook by her mother. She moved to Chicago in 1996 to attend Northwestern University and made America her second home. She now lives in Los Angeles.
I love Aarti and look forward to seeing more dishes from her as I continue to try to flex my culinary skills.
Aarti Party is shown on the Food Network each Sunday at 12 pm EST, 11 am CST.

Just wondering why you have to include so much meat in an indian cooking program.
A cusine mostly vegetarian, that is so rich in flavours and aroma deserve other choices. That’s what many of us have been waiting for.
