As many of you who are my regular readers know, I get my nails done religiously every two to three weeks at a nail salon. I have long nails by nature which curve due to heredity. In order to keep them long, I get an overlay or “fill” of acrylic each time I get them done, and every few months, I get a manicure as well.
The wonderful folk at Nailene sent items for an event I am co-hosting soon, and I thought I would do a review of their ‘So Natural’ artificial nails with ‘Chip Proof Technology’. I used my mother-in-law as my test subject since I have nails already. She was a willing participated in this review.
The good- Nailene’s ‘So Natural’ nails (in French manicure) “look” real. I was surprised at how authentic they looked up close. Back when I was a teen, I wore “press on nails” and they always looked just like that. Nailene’s nails looked well manicured and not “fake”. I applaud them for making false nails appear real.
For the most part, they were easy to put on. The nail kit came with a bottle of Nailene Nail Studio Professional Gel Glue, a stick for pulling back the cuticle, and a nail file/buffer. Everything was included to make the application of the nails a pleasant experience.
The bad- Because my mother-in-law has “wide nails”, there were not enough nails in her size included in the kit. Luckily for me, I had another package, so I had to use to two packages to fulfill the requirements of her nail size.
Overall, I recommend Nailene’s ‘So Natural’ as quick and inexpensive way to do one’s nails. For an event or gala, these nails would come in handy.
Below are a few pictures of my finished work. Special thanks to my mother-in-law for being my guinea pig (and my daughter for being my ‘assistant’). And special thanks to Nailene for the product(s).

Those really do look natural. Maybe I need to revisit press on nails.

Girl, I was impressed with the shape and look of the nails. When I saw them when we were finished, they looked as if they are acrylic and she had them done. Two days later, the nails are still on and look fab. I would try them as well if I didn’t already have an overlay.
