If you would’ve told me last year this time that I would be working full-time on my blog, a book, and other projects, you would’ve gotten a look of puzzlement from me. I always wanted to be self employed and working as my own boss but didn’t know quite how to get her done, if you know what I mean. It was a dream deferred—I believed that I would continue working the the corporate environment for the rest of my life: guaranteed paycheck, benefits, security. But of course, that all changed a few months ago.
I go back and forth about working on my own. When you’ve been working for people for almost twenty years, you get used to it. The idea of not doing so is foreign. I’ve still been looking for a full-time job while working on my projects, but each month, I still manage to meet my bills and responsibilities doing what I love to do.
I’ve almost stopped looking for a full-time job completely. I still look here or there, but for the most part, I am getting used to this job—blogging, writing, working on my e-Book and other projects with other people. Looking through the rearview at my past mistakes has allowed me to really appreciate the position I am now in. It’s a good feeling.
I am focused and driven beyond words. I also have a great cheerleading squad who are behind me every step of the way. And with each day, I feel I am getting closer and closer to my ultimate goal of being totally self employed. It feels good.
To those that are stretching their wings and finding strength to fly, you can do it. Don’t put it off any longer. Go after your dreams and ambitions like your life depended on it. Hustle today like you never have and picture yourself reaping those rewards which are sure to come when you put your heart and soul into your work.
There are so many possibilities.
What are your dreams, your goals, your vision? Are you truly living the type of life you’ve always wanted to live, or are you putting off your dreams waiting for an opportunity that may never come?
Let’s discuss!

I'm positioning myself to graduate into my own company after grad school. Didn't get a chance to go into all that at BWB a couple of weeks ago but that is the ultimate objective. Company launched and on my way.

One of my dreams is to write a book. I was going to wait until I was older and more established to write it, but I recently decided to step out on faith, and just do it! I figured there's no time like the present, so now I'm doing it. Yes, it's scary, but I'm just going to do it! Lol

Like your post. A reassurance to what I’m planning to do. We always need people who’ll remind us to “Do it, Because You Can.”
