Staying in control of my finances has been most important as of late. Since I am not currently employed full-time, every penny I spend has to be tracked and budgeted to avoid potential problems. I have found that using Mint.com has helped me tremendously stay on top of my money and has made budgeting my expenses easy as pie.
What is Mint.com you ask? It is an online website and application that you can use to help you and your family budget and plan your money. It is free to use and once you sign up, within seconds, you can be on your way to learning about where your money is going and tracking expenses for better planning. There are some other sites that charge a monthly fee to do this service, but Mint.com doesn’t cost a cent. You use Mint.com by setting up your various accounts (bank, savings, investment, etc.) in your profile and it will send you an email or SMS text with information about account transactions. Mint.com suggests to you how you can do better with your spending and the performance of your investments. And best of all, Mint.com uses VeriSign and TrustE, so you can set up your account without giving out important information such as social security number. You are virtually anonymous.
I have been using Mint.com at the suggestion of a reader since last December and it’s been a wonderful thing. Visibly seeing how I am spending my money makes me be a better budgeter and planner. I would suggest this website to anyone who wants to learn to save money and spend more wisely.
There is also a Mint.com app for the iPhone and Android devices.

Mint is very good. You're right. And it's a good way to structure your expenses. No question!
I also recommend checking your current expenses to see what, if anything, you can cut or reduce.
We looked at EVERYTHING including our phone bills. We dumped the home phone and the expensive cellphones and got Net10 phones instead. We pay only for what we use at 10¢ a minute and 3¢ a text. Our bills are gone, since we get none! and there are no overaqes or surprises, either.
We also eat out less, and dine in more! The point is that you can find all sorts of things to cut so you can get more for your money!
Good luck!!
