Today is Friday, February 5th and it has been designated as National Wear Red Day to help fight heart disease, the number one killer of women. The American Heart Association is asking that everyone wear red today to display support and to bring about awareness to this powerful disease that is taking way too many lives.
And you don’t have to just wear red today. Wear it as much as you can to symbolize your support of the Go Red for Women campaign.
Prevention is the best way to help fight heart disease. Visit your physician regularly and know your numbers when it comes to your cholesterol levels, blood pressure, etc.. Eat healthy foods and stay away from fatty and fried foods. Exercise at least two to three times a week and reduce stress whenever possible.
For a complete list of things you can do to take action and help fight heart disease amongst women, please visit the official Go Red for Women website sponsored by the American Heart Association.
Are you wearing your red today?

We talked about the Go Red! campaign in my Public Relations Campaigns course on Friday; really breaking down each of the different audiences it effects. Not only women who may have the disease, but their families too. And I must say, the logo is too cute. Great post! 🙂
