It’s almost here. The day that kids look forward to the most. The day that we as adults have been fretting over. Christmas Day is upon us. But of course, we all know, or should know rather, that Christmas is not about giving or receiving. It’s about the birth of Christ.
This year, especially, I have been speaking with my kids at length about Christmas. Children of course have a tendency to look at what is given to them. And what our society has done a good job doing is selling Christmas. Materializing the holiday and making it about doorbusters, sales, last minute discounts and the like. And I adore saving money. But what is more important is that me and my family truly understand the reason for the season.
The presents are wrapped neatly under the tree. The food is in the fridge waiting to be prepared. The Christmas cards have been sent out to friends and loved ones. Stockings are stuffed. Trees are dressed in their finest. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. A time for family, joy, love.
The reason for the season. Is He!
I wish all of my Cubicle Chick readers a wonderful, happy, safe, and fabulous Christmas. May you continue to be blessed.
