A special thank you goes to Verizon for sponsoring my trip to the 2018 Essence Fest.
There’s something about New Orleans.
Its laid back style and easy going personality, robust atmosphere, and dramatic scenery had my heart at hello. It’s not often that I get to travel to this city, but when I do, it’s an experience that always warms my heart and eases my soul. My love affair for NOLA runs deep, as it is like a beau who delights me every time I see him.
This is one of the many reasons why I love attending the Essence Festival. It’s a New Orleans staple and the perfect setting for this massive culture connection, which is like a huge party slash family reunion slash fashion show slash mega concert. I’m happy to be in the place!
This time around, I am covering the 2018 Essence Fest as a connoisseur of all things Black Girl Magic. If it’s stylish, tech driven, culinary Creole, and Instagram worthy, then I am going to be on top of it. I want to highlight what is so great about us as a people when we get together and create a whole lotta magic of our own.
As a #BetterMatters Verizon Ambassador, I will be sharing all of the goodness at the festival with three Verizon powered devices: iPhone X, Google Pixel 2, and Samsung Galaxy 9. I want to push the limits on what these gadgets can do and I will be utilizing them each day to help me create some dope content.
You can read this post to see what other electronic devices I am traveling with this summer.
If you can’t be at the 2018 Essence Fest, then I will be your eyes and ears. Stay peeled to my Instagram feed as I am going to be all over Insta Stories and IGTV. You can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook too!
By the looks of the schedule of events (and there are tons of them), this is going to be the best Essence Fest yet!
Laissez le bon temps rouler!

Yes, girl! It will be the 25th anniversary next year and they will be pulling out all of the stops. They usually release the tea and info on the year’s event in January, so start planning then.
